I am really surprised that the St. Louis Rams are doing as well as they are this year. I was a little worried earlier in the season because they were doing really well except for in the 4th quarter. I think that they have a really good team this year that is capable of a lot. I could definitely see them going into the playoffs and going pretty far. There are a few reasons that I think they are so successful this year. Sam Bradford and Steven Jackson are two of the main reasons. I have always been a huge Patriots fan since I was like two. But I also root for the rams because they are the “hometown” team. I have been to a few Rams games in the past and I have always had a lot of fun going to see them play in St. Louis. It sucked when they were doing really really bad the past few years. But now that they are doing better and are not one of the worst three teams in the NFL they are fun to watch again and I look forward to seeing how far they will go in the playoffs.

Cold Weather Sucks
I wish that it was summer again. I do not like cold weather at all, I never have. During the summer I can play sports outside, or do work all day long and never have a problem. But during the winter if I try to run outside then I have trouble breathing and cough a lot. Doing work outside during the winter really sucks because you are so bundled up trying to stay warm that it is hard to move around and do things that would be easy if it was warmer and you had less cloths on. I think that if it is going to be cold it should have to snow a lot. Otherwise the cold is pointless. I hate being cold. When I get older I want to buy a home down in Florida so that during the winter I can move down there and be warm and not have to deal with all the really cold weather that we have here. The only good thing about cold weather is that Christmas is in the middle of it.

ER
Yesterday I had my second twelve hour shift in the ER at St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Belleville. It was pretty awesome. I am going to be an EMT student and one of the requirements is that we spend twenty-four hours in the ER doing clinical and assessing the patients that the EMS crews bring in. I was able to see and do a lot of really cool things while I was in there for my two shifts. After working those two shifts I feel more confident that becoming an EMT and working on an ambulance is what I want to do as a career. Sometime down the road I want to become a paramedic, then eventually become a field RN so I can then make more money and do a few more things, such as work on a med-evac helicopter. I think its pretty awesome getting to help people when they really need it and, from what ive seen in the ER so far, there is never a boring or unoriginal day. Which is a major plus because I would hate having a job that is the same boring thing day after day.

Soccer
Last night I got to coach the Red Bud high school age soccer team at the power haus in waterloo for their first game of the season. I have played soccer since I was in 3rd grade and I played at the power haus for the last four years during the 5on5 coed seasons. For the past two years I have also coached the YMCA 12 year old soccer team. Last night they played a really good game against a Belleville east team and lost by a few. But for the first game of the season it wasn’t bad at all. I did realize last night how much I really miss playing soccer there. I really hope I will be able to play on either a college team or the mens league in the next session. Ever since high school ended I haven’t played a single sport and its weird. Ever since I was in 6th grade I haven’t had more than two weeks in a row in an entire year when I am either not practicing a sport, or playing games. It has been a huge change and I really don’t like it and want to play soccer again really soon.

Halloween Weekend
I decided to start off Halloween weekend the right way this weekend. On Friday night some of my friends and I went to the Darkness in St. Louis. It was an awesome haunted house. It is scary enough being around Soulard after the sun goes down in downtown St. Louis normally, so having people running around with blood everywhere and their brains sticking out just made it that much better. It was definitely worth the $20 it costs to get in Halloween was last night and it was pretty awesome. My whole family came over to my house and we all hung out there and handed candy to the kids that came by. After all the kids were done trick-or-treating we ended up going over to a friend’s house who has an annual Halloween party. It was a lot of fun there because the rest of my family ended up showing up along with a lot of other people that we know. Overall it was a pretty awesome Halloween weekend.

Old Greg
A few years ago a few of my friends and I found one of the best videos that you tube has to offer. It is called "Old Greg". After one of my friends showed it to me the first time I was actually a little freaked out by it. Its about a guy who is fishing at night and he catches Old Greg who is a scaly man-fish. After Old Greg gets into the guys boat he talks to the guy then knocks him out by showing him his "downstairs mixup" as he likes to call it. Old Greg then takes the man to his cave and pretty much holds him hostage. After I watched this video a few times with my friends it became more halarious each time. After awhile my friends and I could quote the entire video and still sometimes say some quotes from the video. This is a very different video and if you dont watch it more than once, or with friends, you probebly wont enjoy it at all and you will most likely end up being a little freaked out by it like I was. I hope you enjoy it!

The Most Helpful Internet Site for School
The most useful internet site that I have ever used for school is called Noodle Tools. This website is very helpful because it helps you to correctly cite books, magazines, pictures, internet articles, and anything else you might need to cite. It has a step by step process and has areas where you just fill in the blank with the information of the source you want cited. After you are done it processes the information and puts it in correct MLA format. I find it to be a very useful site because I find it hard to remember how to cite all the different kinds of information correctly. With this internet site you don’t have to remember all the different ways, you just have to be able to fill in the information and it will do the rest for you. It helped me out a lot during high school because I always lost points on my essays because I would use the wrong format or get something wrong on my works cited page. This site allowed me to get the works cited page done quickly and correctly. It helped me out a lot during all of my high school english classes.

Post Numero Uno
Hey, my name is Josh Dietz. I graduated from Red Bud High School last spring. In high school I played golf and baseball, and during the winter I played soccer at the Metro East Power Haus in Waterloo. I have been on two separate twelve day backpacking trips in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in New Mexico. I was in scouting for twelve years and last year I became an Eagle Scout. I have decided to go to SWIC because it is a lot cheaper than a university and it offers the classes that I want to take. I am currently taking the EMT class right now and hopefully in the spring I can start working on an ambulance part time or something along those lines. I plan on becoming a Paramedic in a few years and eventually want to become either an RN or a Flight Paramedic on a helicopter. I think I am going to do really well in this field because I am very good at keeping calm during emergencies and I enjoy helping people who are in need. I cannot wait for this semester of college to be over because it is already becoming very difficult. I am also looking forward to beginning my career in the spring.
